Gibson vs Epiphone: Is there much difference?

I’m in a fortunate position. I own both an Epiphone and a Gibson Les Paul, and I’ve been a Les Paul fan for well over ten years. There’s just something about it that I can never put my finger on- Maybe it’s the way the neck feels, or the way you can make it scream on the bridge pickup and weep on the neck. Or- Maybe it’s the sheer amount of things you can do with two volume and two tone controls. Perhaps it’s all of them but like I said; I just don’t know.
