Aidan Millward is a guitar fan from the West Midlands who figured writing about gear was just about as much fun as playing them. Even though he’s actually not that good at it.
Aidan’s guitar playing career started in around 2003, after discovering a battered nylon-string acoustic in the loft of his parents’ house. Over ten years later, Aidan has had the opportunities to be a support act for ‘Acoustic Chumbawumba’ (That band that got knocked down and back up again), The South (containing members of the Beautiful South), Saxon and as recently as 2008 he sang in a chior at the Royal Albert Hall performing Mozarts ‘Requiem in D Minor’. Up until 2010 Aidan was in the North Cambridgehire-based rock band ‘Dave’ that he left to pursue his studies and career aspirations.
More recently, Aidan has been building pedals and is on the way (as of September 2014) to completing his first custom guitar build with a view to build more custom designs either for private or for selling. He has also completed a BA (Hons) in music technology, holds a PGCE in Post-16 Education and is ProTools 101 certified. He is slowly making a return to the gigging circuit, regularly performing at the Cask In Hand pub in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, where he grew up.
He cites Slash, Joe Walsh, James Hetfield, Don Felder and John Mayer as his guitar heroes.
